Featured Title!

Just sharing another milestone!  Who I Am Yesterday is a featured title at WonderWorld.

This blog features various genres of ebooks of indie authors.  As it happens, my book made it to the front page!

This was made possible through friends at Facebook and community supporters.  Thanks everyone!  I really do appreciate it.

How to Get Published

CreateSpace

No more, “If you don’t hear from us in 8 weeks, sorry we’re not interested.”  Indie publishing is not what it used to be.  The old vanity presses charged you crazy prices to acquire inventories of your own work which often became very nice door stops.  CreateSpace is a print on demand publisher which allows you to do your own thing or hire their professionals.  You can pick and choose which services you wish to engage.  They provide newsletters every month that are very helpful.  And to top it off you have a direct pipeline to on-line marketing.  It’s a great way to take control of your own artistic endeavors.  Caution, if you don’t pay for professional editors then make sure you have a crew of “beta readers!”  There is a reason that Indie publications started out with a sub-standard reputation; make the effort to shoot for the same professionalism as a major NYC publisher would demand.

New Amazon Author Page

So, now I have an author page on Amazon!  There is an RSS feed connection so all posts from here will post there as well.  Another profile to work on, sigh.

Who I Am Yesterday, now available

Who I am Yesterday is now available through the publisher: https://www.createspace.com/3843895

The book and the Kindle version are also listed on Amazon.com.

To clarify for all my Canadian fans:  The book will not be listed on Amazon.ca for various reasons, some apparently rather obscure.  I noted some other books I am familiar with on that site and the prices are really out of line so I wouldn’t want you to pay from there anyway.  I am assured by the publisher that you can purchase direct from their website (noted above), or nearly any other Amazon site in the world.  I think Japan is another one that is not available (just saying).  So, it’s quite a jungle out there and you should take your compass with you!

Thank you, sincerely, for all the support I have received in the journey and the sharing of it.

Entering the arena

The book has been released to the publisher.  My understanding is that it will be available to the market within the week.  I will, of course, post all relevant information as soon as I have it.  There will be a Kindle version probably early July.

Nearing publication

Who I Am Yesterday should be released within the next week.  I have included a thumbnail of the cover in this post.  It has been quite a journey; both the actual writing and the story behind it.  Each day is a new adventure and adds another tale.  It is time, however, to share what I know and hope that it helps others facing this process.  This is the cover shot for all marketing channels.

Welcome to the Reading Alcove ~ A Place on the Window Seat

******REVISED******

It seems rather amazing that this little Alcove has passed its ten year anniversary. Lots of love, and pain, joy, and reflection packed into these digital pages. I have grown within this blanket tent, and I’ve met oh so many interesting folks.

Several months ago I decided to take the step to move to a hosted solution. That was quite a journey, and I’m not quite completely settled. I am, however close. All of the content here has been moved, although I couldn’t find a way to be efficient with the comments. My new home is expanded with more information on my publications and, as I write, I will be working on a link to purchase my books directly from me. Becoming published, and venturing out into the world of fiction, has made it a useful choice to go commercial.

I hope you’ll follow me. There is a contact form, and I’m hoping to figure out the “follow” thing. Meanwhile, all comment capability has been automatically closed on this site – at least it was supposed to be. Please come visit my new home:
