Cuddles at Midnight

The fate of an author. Finding that place between tooting your own horn and blatant self-aggrandizement. In this case I get to use the platform to introduce folks to a wonderful publication. One I am quite honored to be a part of.

My creative non-fiction essay, Cuddles at Midnight, was published in the Eastern Iowa Review. I’ve read the entire issue and found a thought-provoking, fun, and evocative group of authors.  It is a publication that looks for “good spaces” in whatever the circumstances may be, something that is right up my alley.

Please check it out, including a sampling of the works included.

And now there is an “Author Page”

An author page has now been created at Amazon.com: https://www.amazon.com/author/readingalcove

This page will be listing all publications and includes a blog roll from here.

New Amazon Author Page

So, now I have an author page on Amazon!  There is an RSS feed connection so all posts from here will post there as well.  Another profile to work on, sigh.

Who I Am Yesterday, now available

Who I am Yesterday is now available through the publisher: https://www.createspace.com/3843895

The book and the Kindle version are also listed on Amazon.com.

To clarify for all my Canadian fans:  The book will not be listed on Amazon.ca for various reasons, some apparently rather obscure.  I noted some other books I am familiar with on that site and the prices are really out of line so I wouldn’t want you to pay from there anyway.  I am assured by the publisher that you can purchase direct from their website (noted above), or nearly any other Amazon site in the world.  I think Japan is another one that is not available (just saying).  So, it’s quite a jungle out there and you should take your compass with you!

Thank you, sincerely, for all the support I have received in the journey and the sharing of it.

Entering the arena

The book has been released to the publisher.  My understanding is that it will be available to the market within the week.  I will, of course, post all relevant information as soon as I have it.  There will be a Kindle version probably early July.

Nearing publication

Who I Am Yesterday should be released within the next week.  I have included a thumbnail of the cover in this post.  It has been quite a journey; both the actual writing and the story behind it.  Each day is a new adventure and adds another tale.  It is time, however, to share what I know and hope that it helps others facing this process.  This is the cover shot for all marketing channels.

Welcome to the Reading Alcove ~ A Place on the Window Seat

This is the official blog of Victoria Adams, a published author.  It has been established as the contact point between the readers and the author and as a “window seat” where we can talk about the books and subjects that we find of interest.  The primary interests here are Caregiving Backstage (because I am one), Humanities for the Unbound Mind (because I love all related subjects), and Natural Science from the Observation Deck (because I am an amateur Natural Scientist whose heroes spend a lot of time thinking). It is the type of place where you can imagine grabbing a cup of tea, a comfy thing to sit or sprawl on and a warm place in the sun (or a quiet place to listen to the rain).  It is a place where we will explore the world of the word together.
